The Power of Blog

The power of blog and digg

Today was weird, as today I got on the first site of digg.com with a blog post.

I first tought that was real cool, and later on i wasn't real sure.

I blogged about some chinese digg.com clone that was actually the total same.

After that and about 700 diggs the whole site was just trashed and burned.

Litereally, diggers went on there and totally crashed it, made real mean and racist comments as well as they uploaded a few very nasty pics.

Anyways I'm digressing,

The thing I learned from that, is that things like witch-hunts still find lot's of followers.

The angry mobs still are around, and more importantly they're easier gathered throught the net.

One well-known or even not so well known blog can destroy a whole community or business.

As some famous writer once said, a pen is more powerfull than a sword.

I guess it's the keyboard now.

I just hope the sites owners never find out where I live:-)

I also learned something else, if you have a picture on digg it's more likely that people will digg your stories.

I think that's a sign of why the internet bubble 2.0 doesn't exist.

People are so hooked on the net, it's really part of their lives now, and just like any business, if you have customers or visitors it's money, money, money.

I think site owners actually have an army now, the ones of loyal users, it's about how they use them which will define their fates, check my other post about the 36 strategies geekalized and social princes where we look for similarities about the "oldschool" war strategies and politics and the new technology driven society.

I think this is the original post. http://www.wangr.com/english/?p=11 Unbelievable. Still looks like there is trouble going on. Interesting that this story on Digg is flagged as inaccurate....http://digg.com/tech_news/Digg_Users_Trash_Site which is a sad statement.

Diggers are like that. The crowd at Digg.com is a just a bunch of the gamer generation.

Not all diggers are like that, actually I think most aren't that was just a bunch of kids that went crazy that time, I'm not like that but I love digg, and a lot of other peeps on there said that this was real sad and they want to apologize for what some diggers did.

you're 100% right that sites like digg can attract web attention very quickly and at such enormous scale. like many mob actions, things can turn ugly fast...

Yo GEEK I thought you made some really good points about this whole internet thing. If Im understanding you correctly I would have to agree that the internet basically can make or break you via online communities. Peace out man and keep making money via the web.
